Day 6: Into Darkness: Descent into Weekend

Stuff that has happened:

• I went to The Melting Pot on Thursday night. AND DID NOT EAT CHEESE. Yes, it IS possible.
• I almost assaulted a man on the street. He was eating a piece of banana bread and I almost pushed him down to take it and PUT IT IN MY GAPING FACEHOLE.
• I feel pretty OK. Just a little tired. 
• Nate already looks like he's dropped some weight. At end of the 30 days, he will ditch Microsoft and start his modeling career. BLUE STEEL! WITH A RED BEARD!
• I have fears.

Let me explain to you my fears.

First, I have a daily fear of falling down and breaking both of my ankles ... like that part in T2 ... where the liquid metal Terminator gets stuck in the liquid nitrogen and his limbs BREAK OFF:

Now imagine that as two bloody ankle stumps!

Second, weekends are horrible. During weekends and/or days off I am left to my own devices and I don't have a schedule, routine, or a built in discipline. So in the past, Friday to Sunday have been like this:

And Thirdly .... Mama REALLY wants a drink. Don't get me wrong .. I don't the have TREMORS or anything (yet) ... but the last few days have been hectic and a giant glass (bottle) of wine sounds AMAZEBALLS right now. In fact, I was just lamenting the loss of a Friday afternoon tradition at my previous place of employment where we'd do a shot of whiskey (sweet, sweet, whiskey) once everything had been scheduled. It was a nice little ritual. I miss it.

Anyhow, big props to my posse who have been SUPER and SUPPORTIVE. And haters ...well, I guess you just gotta hate. 

Also ... one last thing ... that probably needs it's own entry ... I remembered the scene from Superman 3 where Evil Superman fights Clark Kent in the junkyard (it's SUPER SYMBOLIC AND SHIT FOR ALL MY FEELS). I feel like I'm often fighting myself on these types of "healthy" adventures.
